The latest LP from Tim Bowness expands on the template set in previous solo releases to produce his most intimate work yet. The title ‘Late Night Laments’ is fitting as the lush soundscapes crafted suit the evening dusk. Cutting against this are lyrics drawing from a wide, often dark, range of topics including ideological violence, social exclusion and madness.

Lead track ‘I’m Better Now’ embodies the otherside of the title song of his previous album ‘Flowers At The Scene’. Tim confirms:

‘Flowers At The Scene’ focused on the repercussions of a violent crime (the impact on the victim’s family and friends), while ‘I’m Better Now’ is written from the perspective of a perpetrator of a hate crime. For a variety of reasons, society has seemingly become increasingly polarised over the last half-decade and along with an rise in intolerance, there’s been a real sense of more and more people becoming disaffected and feeling ‘left behind’ or invisible. Sometimes, the consequences of that can be ugly.’

‘Late Night Laments’ is released on 28th August and is available to pre-order: timbowness.co.uk
