Earlier this year I heard one of the great long lost recordings of the sixties – Thomas Edisun’s Electric Light Bulb Band – The Red Day Album. It now sees a vinyl release on rather splendid Guerssen label who originally discovered it.
The recordings for ‘The Red Day Album’ were recorded over one weekend just after the release of The Beatles masterpiece in June 67. From Louisiana and led by star teen songwriter Richard Orange, Thomas Edisun’s Electric Light Bulb Band made ripples in their home state and sneaked out a single.
However, the album was never released, the tapes were stored away and the band broke up with some of their members forming cult power- pop band Zuider Zee.

The Guerssen vinyl Package, contains both the 17 song LP on 12″ inch, 180 gm vinyl, plus the 7″ inch first single By “Thomas Edisun”, No One’s Been Here for Weeks” bw/ “Common Attitude”, and includes a full colour collage insert of never before seen photos of the band.
