So there was this chemistry and that’s what sustained us, really. That was what was really happening and also we could work very fast. I could work fast, because we had to. And Jack could work very fast anyway because he’s very, very versatile. So we managed to get quite a lot done in very short spaces of time… Jack had already written most of the music for “White Room” and we tried a few ideas, a few lyrical ideas, that didn’t work and then I suddenly thought of this poem which was called “White Room” anyway and I thought, well, if I precis this down to a page then maybe that could work and that’s what did work.
