Föhn is a new trio formed by Italian avant garde musician and poet Napo Camassa III with Gare du Nord regulars Joss Cope and Ian Button. With all the material from ‘Ball Park Music’ improvised, this collection brings together space rock, 70s electronica and dreamlike lyrics into a mesmerising whole.
Jeb Loy Nichols new long player ‘June is Short, July is Long’, led by the track ‘You Got It Wrong’ effortlessly straddles soul and country. Augmented by his touring band, the Westwood All-Stars ably assist Jeb’s blue-eyed soul.
The Ashton Jones Project‘s new single ‘Hard Work Dedication’ from their forthcoming debut album ‘Toast’ announces a new star to the UK soul scene in Ashton Jones.
Bristol based Emily Breeze’s third single ‘Work’ trails new album Rituals. ‘Work’ sonically references Black Box Recorder and This Is Hardcore era Pulp with equally biting lyrics.

Chernobyl Sunshine Club give us an English take on the Flaming Lips sound with their new single ‘Birthdayland’. It will be intriguing to see how these Londoner’s branch out for an album.
Adventureland by The Junior League is a hooky noisy concoction and deeply infectious. The Junior League is the nom de plume for Joe Adragna and he delivers PowerPop in spades on this LP. Highlights include opener ‘Heavy’, ‘The Queen of The Dead’ and ‘Delete and Repeat’.
Canadian trio Hunting‘s Sparklehorse cover ‘Gold Day’ is aural treat, a perfectly off kilter alternative track that washes over the ears. ‘Gold Day’ is off the band’s upcoming album ‘Whatever You Need’, set for release 1 November.
The Walker Roaders‘ tease their self-titled debut album with ‘Lord Randall’s Bastard Son’. Inspired by the 17th century balled which inspired Bob Dylan for ‘A Hard Rain Is Gonna Fall’, the band have pedigree too. Consisting of James Fearnley (The Pogues), Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly) and Marc Orrell (Dropkick Murphys) this is a band with bold, confident Celtic folk rock.
