Allan Clarke through his son Toby posted a message to Facebook last night (13 June 2019) confirming that his long awaited new music is being released shortly.
“I have a single release on the 12th July and the album on the 20th Sept. The album title is RESURGENCE – first single is Journey Of Regret. It’s with BMG world wide – there is going to be a press release soon so look out for things to happen”.
In my 2014 interview with Allan I asked him whether he was writing new material:
“Well, I’ve never stopped. I jot lyrics down. At the moment I’ve got somebody doing a song that I wrote called ‘A Love That Never Blooms’. I sent the lyrics to this particular person that I like and she’s putting music to it. So I’m just waiting to see how that turns out and get back into doing a few more lyrics and maybe doing a few vocals here and there. But never going out on tour or anything like that…I did that for over 40 years. And though I miss it slightly I wouldn’t want to go out and do the tours that I do with The Hollies which they’re still doing by the way. I wouldn’t want to be a part of that sort of circus again. But how knows? I’ve had lots of offers by lots of people but I’m not really ready for that yet.”

Great to hear a new song and album coming out looking forward to hearing them.I have been a fan of yours and the Hollies since 1963
Loved The Hollies since I was 12 years old. Allan Clarke was my idol – terrible crush on him for ever. Will definately listen out for his “return”.
Made my day thankyou! ???
(Now 67) some things never change!
This isn’t fake news is it? If not, how did Allan manage to fix his lost voice?
Good to hear the news of his forthcoming releases and I look forward to hearing them. The Hollies were a truly remarkable band as is witnessed by their longevity, and his solo albums contained some excellent music. However, the past is another world, and it is good that he is progressing on to newer things. Long may he continue.
Hey Allan .. came across this playing with a new tablet .. glad all coming to fruition on time.. best of luck with it all. The bits I’ve heard were fabulous.
Thank you, Jason, for keeping us avid Allan Clarke fans in the loop! I have prayed that his voice would be up to performance level, and am grateful he has the health and stamina to return to his calling and share his inspiring voice with us!
Without a doubt he will as always put everything he has got into this album. Can’t wait to see who is playing, producing, album cover etc. I know Allan has said no touring, well that is fair enough just to have him back is wonderful. Can’t wait
Fabiola – not fake news. Have faith! Allan never lost his voice, he looked for it – believed he had found it – trusted it, and here we are! Looking forward to the release!!
Great to hear Allan has done a new Album (can’t wait to order it), I have loved his voice in the Hollies and solo, you just can’t mistake that voice, my favourite solo album is “I’ve got time” what a voice.
It was lovely to hear Allan talking to Johnnie Walker on Sounds of the 70’s earlier today. He sounds like a very nice person. It’s nice to know that he is planning on returning to the music scene, after taking time off to look after his wife. There can’t be many people who started playing music in the 60’s, and are still going strong, along with their son and grandson! Allan is living proof, that if you look after your health, you will retain your youthful looks!
Really great to hear Allan singing on his new Album `Resurgence` his voice albeit lower than in younger years sounds terrific he is such a down to earth person and he deserves all the wellbeing for his devotion to his wife and family. Good luck to you Allan with this new Album, Great.
