Review by Jason Barnard
Dutch native Jacco Gardner has clearly soaked up every Left Banke, Zombies and Nirvana (UK) trick in his wondrous album “Cabinet Of Curiosities” out now on Trouble in Mind Records.
In a psychedelic harmony landscape his new album acts as an amazing showcase to an incredible songwriting, musicianship and production talents.
Opener “Clear the Air” spirals down Portobello Road circa 1968.

Listening to “The One Eyed King” itself is enough to send the listener into a dreamlike state. “Watching The World” is a track we wish Syd Barrett would have made post Pink Floyd.
Mellotrons abound on “The Riddle”, it’s like digging up a lost 1967 acetate from the Abbey Road archives.
“The Ballad of Little Jane” finishes the album perfectly mixing UK and US popsike elements, through shifting rhythmical episodes flowing and overlapping with interestingly punctuated beats.
