Co-founder of The Move, Trevor Burton has finally released his first solo album, Long Play.

A raw heartfelt acoustic led record, Long Play’s 11 tracks, include 2 songs penned by Trevor and 9 modern tunes from contemporary songwriters like Vic Chesnutt, John Vanderslice, Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel and John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats.

In a similar way that Johnny Cash embodied material chosen by Rick Rubin, Long Play’s tracks do the same for Trevor.

Highlights include Trevor’s own ‘Hit and Run’, movingly recalling The Move, and the raw ‘Be Postive’, originally by Dennis Callaci of Refrigerator.

Tom Petty’s ‘Wallflowers’ is lifted further by Abby Grant’s backing vocals and deft keyboard tied to Trevor’s signature sound.

Eddie Vedder’s ‘Just Breathe’ is suitably fitting, a moving song about life, death and love – with added weight drawn from Trevor’s half century in rock and roll.

Long Play has been released as a limited-edition of 1,000 blood-red 180-gram vinyl records, and a small run of cassettes. Each vinyl album comes with a limited-edition bonus CD.
