I really enjoy listening to Mike McCartney and through his presence and documentation of the gloury days, is an important figure in the history of Merseybeat. Credit to Jason for just letting him talk and drift into memories that the public usually don’t get to hear about. Somebody told me recently that Mike hasn’t been too well lately. Hope he gets well soon and comes back with more tales for us. He’s a national treasure as much as ‘our kid’ is.
