Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan, has announced a UK speaking tour for spring 2027, titled the Talking Gib’rish Tour, in which he’ll address audiences directly about his life and career. Tickets go on sale Friday 26 June at 10am via BookingsDirect.com

The run of dates begin in April and continues through May. These are live speaking events rather than concerts, Gillan on stage, talking through six decades of music, the characters he encountered and the moments that defined one of rock’s more durable careers.

Gillan said:

“I am quivering with anticipation at the prospect of embarking on my first ever public speaking engagements…The TALKING GIB’RISH Tour, in April/May 2027. I’ll be covering a lot of ground, from my early days in Hounslow to whatever might have happened on the latest World Tour with my beloved Deep Purple…and maybe something funky in-between. After 65 years on the road, there will be stories about some of the fascinating and sometimes magical events and people that I’ve encountered along the trail. It’s going to be a blast!”

He started out with Hounslow band The Javelins in 1962, then linked up with Roger Glover in Episode Six in 1965, a period that included touring with Dusty Springfield and playing across Europe and the Middle East. He joined Deep Purple in 1969. See more details in Ian Gillan on His Life and Music.

Deep Purple’s new album SPLAT! is imminent, so Gillan won’t be short of new ground either.
