Beau is back on Friday 16th April with “The Methadone Of Time”, his twelfth collection for Cherry Red Records and, coincidentally, his seventy-fifth birthday album!

Beau

Fifty-two years down the track from his first outing on John Peel’s Dandelion Records, Beau’s new release for 2021 comprises a suite of fourteen songs written entirely during the first lockdown period of the 2020 pandemic. Aside from COVID-19 itself, much happened during this time to pique Beau’s interest; “Gotcha” journalism, one particularly tragic death on the street in Minneapolis, political hubris and self-aggrandisement; even binge-watching TV comes under the spotlight!

“The Methadone Of Time” is being issued in memory of two late friends; Paul Marshall, an old Raiders’ bandmate from Leeds days, and Clive Selwood who died in June 2020.

As Beau says, “Clive, together with the late John Peel, was the guy who gave me the opportunity to get my music onto vinyl back in ’69. Had it not been for Clive, it’s highly doubtful Beau would have ever got off the ground, much less still be producing today. I owe him, John, and Clive’s late wife Shurl-gurl such a huge debt of gratitude.”

“The Methadone Of Time” will be available from download sites around the world (including of course iTunes and the Amazons), and will also stream on YouTube, Spotify, Deezer and all other popular streaming services.

Cherry Red’s official promo video for the album, “The Felon”, is playing now on their YouTube channel.
